Institutional Conviction Score
The 0–100 research score summarizing how strongly tracked managers accumulated a security.
This is a proprietary research metric, not a rating or recommendation. It summarizes reported accumulation behavior; a high score is a description of filings, not an opinion about the security.
Scored only for securities with at least 8 tracked holders and ≥ $300M market cap (the small-cap normalization: below these gates a couple of filers can swing every input, so no score is shown). Formula:
score = 100 × (0.22·nb + 0.22·nf + 0.18·inc-ratio + 0.13·nn + 0.15·min(streak, 4)/4 + 0.10·min(avg weight, 5%)/5%)
- nb, nf, nn — the momentum inputs (breadth, flow, net-new; same caps as the momentum label) rescaled from their capped ranges into 0–1, with 0.5 = flat.
- inc-ratio — increases ÷ (increases + reductions) among continuing holders.
- streak — consecutive quarters of rising aggregate tracked shares (capped at 4).
- avg weight — mean portfolio weight among holders (capped at 5%).
50 ≈ flat quarter; scores rise with broad, repeated, meaningful accumulation.

Inputs are quarterly and delayed like all 13F data. The score has no predictive claim; it is versioned, and historical scores are never silently rewritten when the formula changes.
